Shopify Flow
Shopify Flow is Shopify's automation tool: it runs workflows on a trigger-condition-action model, with no code required.
Flow automates recurring processes in your store: a trigger (e.g. 'order created') starts a workflow, conditions check criteria (e.g. order value above 200, a specific product tag), and actions execute something (e.g. tag the order, send an email, add the customer to a segment).
Typical real-world uses: automatically flagging and holding high-risk orders, tagging VIP customers above a revenue threshold, notifying purchasing when inventory runs low, removing out-of-stock products from collections or writing refunds into reporting. Flow also connects with apps that bring their own triggers and actions.
Flow is available on all Shopify plans from Basic upward and, in many setups, replaces expensive single-purpose apps or manual busywork. Its limits show up with complex logic spanning multiple systems — that is where middleware or custom apps take over.
